Test a blocked checkout

Safe way to verify Shield is enforcing a rule.

Use this checklist to confirm Shield is actually enforcing a rule — not just showing “synced” in Admin.

Before you start

  • Protection mode is Shield
  • Sync status is successful
  • CheckoutGuard validation is enabled under Settings → Checkout → Checkout rules

Recommended test: minimum order value

  1. On Protection, enable Minimum order value and set a high amount (for example 100).
  2. Save rules and wait until sync succeeds.
  3. On the storefront (incognito / guest), add a product so the cart is under that amount.
  4. Proceed through checkout.
  5. You should see CheckoutGuard’s buyer validation message and be unable to complete the order.

Other easy tests

  • Max quantity per line set to 1, then try quantity 2
  • Guest low value with a guest cart under the threshold

After testing

Turn the test rule off or restore safe thresholds so real customers are not blocked.
