CheckoutGuard helps Shopify merchants monitor checkout-related order patterns and optionally enforce configurable rules at checkout using Shopify Validation Functions.
How it works
- Monitor — Shopify sends
orders/createwebhooks. CheckoutGuard records signals, scores activity, and can open incidents when patterns look elevated. - Shield Mode — Your enabled protection rules are published into a cart validation Function. Shopify runs that Function during checkout and can block the buyer when a rule matches.
- Admin app — Dashboard, Monitor, Protection, Incidents, Plan, Settings, and Support live inside Shopify Admin.
Who it’s for
Merchants who want lightweight checkout abuse controls and visibility without replacing Shopify Payments fraud tools or a full enterprise fraud suite.
Next steps
- Getting started — install and confirm Monitor is receiving orders
- Shield Mode — turn on enforcement when ready
- Test a blocked checkout — prove a rule is live
