Rules are configured on the Protection page. Each rule is off until you enable it. Thresholds only apply when the rule is on.
Core rules
- Minimum order value — Block carts below an amount you set. Useful to stop tiny card-testing style orders.
- Guest checkout low value — Restrict low-value carts when the buyer is checking out as a guest.
- New buyer low value — Similar control focused on first-time / new buyer contexts when the data is available.
- Require authenticated buyer for low-value orders — Push low-value checkouts toward logged-in customers.
- Max quantity per line — Cap how many of a single variant can be in the cart.
- Max cart quantity — Cap total units across the cart.
Advanced rules
Advanced options (for example protected variants / geo-related controls) live under the Advanced section on Protection. Use them only when you understand the buyer impact.
Sync
After you save, CheckoutGuard updates the Shopify validation configuration. Wait for sync success before testing checkout. If sync fails, see Troubleshooting.
