1. Install the app
Install CheckoutGuard from your Shopify Partner / App listing onto a development or production store. Complete the in-app onboarding so the shop record and initial mode are set.
2. Confirm Monitor is working
- Open Monitor in the app.
- Place a real test order on the storefront (or wait for organic orders).
- Within a short time you should see an order signal. If nothing appears, see Troubleshooting.
3. Review Protection (rules stay off until you enable them)
Open Protection. Rules do nothing until you toggle them on and save. Shield Mode must be enabled for rules to block checkout.
4. Enable validation in Shopify (for Shield)
When you use Shield, confirm under Shopify Admin → Settings → Checkout → Checkout rules that the CheckoutGuard validation is enabled.
5. Optional: upgrade plan
Paid plans unlock longer history and Shield enforcement. Manage this on the Plan page. See Plans & billing.
